Meet Liz Thompson

Liz Thompson is a screenwriter, playwright, development and mystery consultant, puzzle book author, and comedian who cut her creative teeth on Chicago’s renowned theater and comedy scene --producing multiple improv and sketch comedy shows, founding an improv comedy club, creating an award-winning web series, and serving as VP on the board of directors for Red Theater-- before making the leap to Los Angeles.
Specializing in anything with a good twist or punchline, Liz has sold a sitcom to CBS, two crime procedurals to NBC, and has a sitcom, a murder mystery, and a horror feature in development with Cathartic Media, August Point, and Big Moody Curve along with a few additional top secret projects.
Liz has had two of her sci-fi plays win top selections in -and been produced as part of- the Paragon Play Festival. She has also won a Tracking Board mentorship, was featured in The Bitch List, has crafted puzzle books for Hunt A Killer (Book 2) and Netflix’s A Man on the Inside, and has consulted on projects for Oscar-nominated producers, award-winning EPs, and legendary showrunners. Liz also occasionally contributes screenwriting articles to the Final Draft blog, teaches free writing workshops to Deaf writers, pops in as a guest speaker for various programs, and crafts puzzle-hunts for private events. Liz is repped by Gavin Lurie at Zero Gravity.
